India has the largest number of visually impaired mass from among the world. Sundarbans is affected the most for its poor living standards, lower income and inadequate treatments. Ignorance on the part of survivors and their family has also sparked visual impairment to almost 1.88%, making it 40% higher than the national average. Females are largely affected than males. Even small children are also affected. Some familiar reasons for blindness here are cataract, corneal disorders and refractive errors. Also insufficient optometrists have raised the number of blinds in the nation, leave aside that remote island. It has just one optometrist per 100000 people. Insufficient eye donations are another major cause why widespread sight correction is not available here.
